Fighting For My Rights

My name is Philip Williams and I’m from a place in Canada called Edmonton. I have just returned from WW1 where I was a pilot. I spent 2 years there and I was injured. This how I was injured my plane crashed violently into a field where I broke my arm.

The worst part of the war was not knowing were the enemies might appear because we were up in the air. Before the war I was working as a Farmer, now I want continue working as a factory worker. I heard there are some new factories up in Winnipeg, assembling vacuums . I want to go there to get a job.

The Next year
I have been working at this factory assembling vacuums for a year. The conditions in the factory are bad. They make us work for long hours and they only pay me below the minimum wage! These American owners are treating us badly. Some of my friends at the factory want to get together and join a UNION. This is an organization to help workers fight for their rights. They will protect us from bad conditions, long hours and help raise our the wages of factory workers . If we don’t get better conditions, then we will go on strike. But during a strike I won’t get paid, so I need to decide if it is worthwhile.
In Winnipeg there was a general strike in 1919, for 6 weeks. The Police were brought in and many arrests were made, then on Bloody Saturday, 2 of the workers were killed!

I have decided to join the strike  because I want to fight for my rights as a worker.

History Test. Immigration

If Ontario was closed for immigration the province that i would choose to live in is in Winnipeg, Manitoba.First of all, in Manitoba you can be able to live a comfortable life because of its low cost of living. Houses, energy and education are affordable just like in Ontario.Next, the province of Manitoba is very welcoming to different cultures, they would have different celebrations for different cultures. Also It might be very cold during the winter season but in the summer the weather is just right. Finally you find a lot of job opportunities there just like finance, human resources, law, education and many more.

Rick Hansen

Rick Hansen 25th anniversary

"The Journey Continues "

Terry Fox

I haven't participated in a Terry Fox run,but I think this is good way to raise money for cancer because there are a lot of people who suffer from this illness and we need to find a way to cure this diseases.
Martin Luther King,Jr. decided "to do something" about what he believes in. He made a speech called "I have a dream" and this speech was made to put and end to discrimination.
Another person is the national hero of the Philippines, Dr. Jose Rizal, He was executed for rebellion, Rizal wrote novels to save the Independence of Philippines from the Spaniards.
In order for a person to succeed in raise money for a cause this person should be determined or dedication, to believe that this person can be successful in what he does, and to also spend their energy and time do do whatever it takes to achieve their goals, They also need to be open to new ideas on how they could make their cause more better so they could have more people to cooperate with them.
